Strip of bobbin lace with diamond pattern and shell border

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace: strap lace. The repeating pattern consists of two zigzag bands placed one above the other, forming a series of diamonds. The diamonds are alternately filled with a pointed oval and an ornamental ground: a contemporary five-hole ground. The zigzag bands are made in net stitch, the lower band provides a regularly wavy scalloped edge along the bottom of the strip with rounded corners at the bottom. Above the zigzag bands the strip consists of a lattice ground: a strap lattice ground. The top edge of the strip is straight finished. One short side is finished by tying knots in the threads. In the threads on the other short side no knots are tied, they hang loose.
