Insert of machine-made lace with a goblet flower between two pointed oval leaves

Insert of natural-colored machine-made lace. The repeating and linked pattern consists of a goblet flower between two pointed oval leaves. The flower has five lobes at the top and is alternately directed upwards or downwards, with the leaves shared with each other. The motifs appear to be made in linen stitch with openwork edges and with some cutouts. In the flower a row of block-shaped thickenings is applied for decoration. The motifs are connected by a machine-made square Valenciennes ground. In the leaves a diamond grid is applied as a machine-made snowflake ground as decorative ground. Top and bottom of the strip are finished straight.
