About this work
Salt cellar, belonging to a spice service. The salt cellar rests on a six-lobed foot upon which is stacked, respectively, a reeded rim between two mirror-image vase shapes, a baluster, a vase shape, and a reeded rim. Above this rises the half-egg-shaped body, decorated with drop-shaped protrusions. These motifs also adorn the removable lid. The relatively flat outer part of the lid sinks slightly towards the center before rising into a multi-profiled knob. The salt cellar has a fixed inner container whose gilding is still in good condition.
