About this work
Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace: Old Flemish lace. Semi-circular shells with irregular edges, each shell containing a symmetrical pattern with a hanging flower, possibly a thistle or cornflower. The motifs are made in linen stitch with openwork edges and cutouts. Along the longitudinal axis, leaf-shaped fancy stitches are applied in cutouts. The top side of the strip is finished straight. The shell edge is finished with picots.
