About this work

Cast-iron stove plate. Central vertical rectangular panel with the crowned coat of arms of the city of Amsterdam. Above it, two angels with a palm branch; below, a cog. The scene is framed by an ornamental band with festoons on either side, a floral motif at the top, and a cartouche at the bottom with the inscription G1635S.
