Patch of Linen Damask with Lace Embroidery and Bobbin Lace with Geometric Motifs Adorned with Red and Gold-Coloured Embroidery

Piece of natural-coloured linen damask with open needlework on one short side - work with drawn threads and work with gathered threads - and a scallop border of bobbin lace: Eastern European lace. On the damask, with a pattern of small checks, a broad strip of work with drawn threads and work with gathered threads is sewn. The four geometric motifs that arose here are partly provided with embroidery in red and gold-coloured threads. To this strip a narrower linen strip is sewn with work with drawn threads along the long edges. Subsequently, the scallop border of bobbin lace is sewn to this again. The piece is possibly part of a towel.
