About this work

Collar of natural-colored needle lace: Venetian relief lace. Curved strip-shaped model. Pattern: various flowers and curling leaves on vines. The motifs are made with festoon stitch, whereby with cut-outs various patterns in flowers and leaves are formed. They are provided with relief contours and the cords are decorated with picots or not. The motifs are connected to each other by an irregular ground with spiles with picots and wheel picots. The collar is finished along the short sides and underside with an arch edge. The upper side is finished with a drawn thread band, with a cross pattern made with leaf-shaped fancy stitches.
