Cap edge (fragment) of needle lace with wheel picots in triangular fields and a lily of the valley in the wavy central field

Cap edge (fragment) of natural-colored needle lace: Brussels mesh lace. It concerns the bottom of the straight cap edge with rounded end. Between triangular fields along the edges, with a decorative filling of gear picots in a hexagonal or diamond grid runs a wide wavy middle field with a fine mesh ground, a mesh lace ground. In this middle field lies a flower branch, a lily of the valley (cluster flower with bells), two loose scattering flowers and in the rounded end a flower branch with a flower that forms part of the fine scalloped edge. The motifs are built up from festoon stitches with fine cutouts and festooned relief contours. Decorative fillings are mainly applied in the triangular fields. The flat scalloped edge consists of linked flowers and elongated leaves and is finished with picots.
