About this work

Scarf or neckcloth of black bobbin lace: Chantilly lace. Stretched rectangular model. Within a two-sided symmetrical frame stand asymmetrical bouquets symmetrically grouped with respect to the short middle axis. The straight frame meets a horseshoe-shaped medallion at the ends, crowned with a large fan palm. Hanging from below are three huge lilies. The design is most closed at the ends and becomes airier towards the middle. A barely scalloped edge consists alternately of a large grape leaf and two small rosettes.
