About this work
Collar of natural-coloured mixed lace: Brussels bobbin lace combined with a needlepoint ground, a fine net lace ground. This type of lace is also known under the name: point d'Angleterre. A pointed back piece gradually flows into square ends. The closed border is formed by a wavy branch, to which alternately a five-petaled rosette (bobbin and needlepoint lace) with one extended petal and an anemone (bobbin lace) are attached. On the fine mesh ground stands a airy row of grape leaves and flower clusters.
