About this work

Fichu of natural-colored mixed lace: Brussels bobbin lace with a needle lace ground, a fine mesh lace ground. This type of lace is also known under the name: point d'Angleterre. A triangular widened back piece tapers into narrow, rounded points. Running around is a scalloped ribbon filled with discs, which is wide at the point and narrow at the top edge. The ribbon is composed of rocailles and C-scrolls. The border consists of roses with beaded hearts. The back piece has a net of meshes (needle lace) sown with mosses, upon which stands a large bouquet of three large rosette flowers and at the top two sprigs of bluebells or hyacinths. Fine garlands hang from the top edge.
