About this work

Fichu of natural-colored mixed lace: Brussels bobbin lace in combination with a needle lace ground, a fine gauze lace ground. This type of lace is also known under the name: point d'Angleterre. A wide rhombus-shaped back piece with a folded point runs rather abruptly into the pointed ends. The large pattern with relief of a thick thread bundle stands out strongly against the fine mesh ground. In the heart stand three robust spiral vines, among others with a volute of wheels and scattered open grid fillings. Furthermore large vines with various flowers and leaves, including a trio of heart-shaped leaves.
