About this work
Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace: Valenciennes lace. The repeating pattern consists of shells in which a more or less oval shape is formed by curved twigs and a rosette flower crowned by leaves. Above this is a scattering motif of two rosettes diagonally above the leaves. Running along the shell edge is a series of elongated ovals. The motifs are made in linen stitch with worked-out edges and are connected by a square Valenciennes ground. The top side is finished with a straight edge.
