About this work
Strip of natural-coloured needle lace: Alençon lace. Under a fine scroll hanging on the inside are alternately a bunch of poppies and tulips. A broad border is formed by 'railway tracks' and three wheels intersected by large leaf rosettes, standing beneath the bunches. The leaves are divided by the midrib into a bright white and a hazier white section.
