About this work
Japanese strip of natural-colored applied lace, bobbin lace and needle lace applied on machine-made net. Against a background widely scattered with motifs, closed worked shells are alternately filled with a pear-shaped medallion with violets and a circular arch with a flower branch. The pear shape is surrounded by a floral wreath with a small flower branch at the top. The branch above the circular arch is swirled in a C-shape and displays two large hanging cup flowers, a sea rose and an anemone (both of needle lace) and hanging bells.
