About this work

Veil or voile of natural-coloured appliqué lace: needle lace - Brussels appliqué lace - applied to a drochel ground. Horizontal rectangle with a slit at the top. Slightly scalloped along three sides. Against the lower edge stand seven large, hill-shaped medallions with a dotted diamond pattern, crossed by tendrils directed to the right. The latter display C-scrolls and many branches with chamomile, cornflowers, etc. The upper field is scattered with comma-shaped tendrils with hanging bells and leaves.
