Skirt of a jacket of appliqué lace with vertical stripes of lilies of the valley springing from rose bouquets

Skirt of a dress of natural-coloured applied lace - bobbin lace applied on drochet ground - point d'Angleterre. Strip-shaped model (the skirt is slit open). The wide strip is scattered with motifs. The repeating pattern consists of standing stripes, formed by stacked, crossed lilies of the valley. The stripes originate from a flower bouquet at the bottom of the strip, with two large roses and forget-me-nots. The successive flower bouquets form a border above a shell border, where each shell is formed by a hanging rose. The motifs are made in linen stitch and net stitch and are provided with bobbin relief contours. In flower hearts and petals ornamental grounds and decorations are applied in filling stitch. The motifs are applied around a fine grid ground, a drochet ground. The upper side is finished with a separately bobbin-made strip on which a linen strip is sewn. The shell border along the lower side of the strip is finished with picots.
