About this work

Strip of black bobbin lace: Chantilly lace. On an open mesh ground lie, along the heavy and broadly scalloped lower edge, hollow cornucopias from which smaller horns extend, halted by round C-scrolls. Twisted branches bearing anemones, tulips, narcissi and lilies of the valley rise from the horns. The scallops alternately display a fan of leaves and a thick garland of anemones and other flowers. From the inner side with linked rosettes hang fine tendrils with small flowers.
