About this work
Scarf of black bobbin lace: Chantilly lace. A long rectangle has a mesh ground with a four-sided symmetrical, closed pattern of scattered hanging berry branches and knots. Large scallops are formed by a border of oak leaves, small scallops by a grape leaf. Towards the interior stand various kinds of flower branches above a horizontal C-scroll or supported on the ends of two small turned C's, which link the large C-scrolls.
