About this work

Lightly vaulted foot. Stem composed of a nodus, a collar, a blown eight-sided ribbed baluster in the shape of a diamond on the shoulder and two composite nodi, the lower one lightly etched. Funnel-shaped, rounded bowl at the bottom, upon which an etched grapevine on a tulle background. On the underside of the bowl, in an oval medallion with a pearl border, the signature and date D.H de Castro 1861 fec; above it Amsterdam.
