About this work

Fragment of a stoneware jug on a high foot with a globular body and narrow neck. The handle and part of the neck and foot are missing. Profiles on the foot and the neck. Partially covered with cobalt blue. On the belly in relief printed and applied, concentric circles of small rosettes and stamped heart shapes, within which a trefoil. In the center three acorns and two flowers in compartments. The side with a vertical band of flowers with triangular leaf motifs on either side. On the neck a band with scrollwork interrupted by rosettes in medallions. Westerwald.
