About this work
Stoneware jug on a high foot with a globular body and a long, narrow neck with a pinched spout. The C-shaped handle is attached to the neck and shoulder. Some profiles and incised lines on the foot and neck. Partially covered with cobalt blue. On the neck, recessed in blue, an incised decoration of a rearing horse between vines (knot-band ornament). The same decoration without a horse in a broad band on the body, surrounded by two bands with impressed zigzag lines (knibis). Blue lines on the foot and neck. A tin mount attached to the neck with the inscription 'FSC 80' on the inside of the lid. Lahntal, Westerwald.
