About this work

Stoneware apothecary jar on a high foot with a cylindrical body, rounded shoulder, and short neck. Partially covered with cobalt blue. On the belly a cylindrical band with a diagonally placed rectangle with a zigzag border, intended for the label. The rectangle is cut out in engraved vines with stamped flowers. The lower part of the belly slopes obliquely to the foot and is decorated with cannelures. On the shoulder a scale pattern cut out in blue. Raeren.
