About this work
Jug (trick jug) of stoneware on a high foot with a globular belly and an openwork neck with a short spout just below the rim. The C-shaped handle is attached to the neck and shoulder. At the bottom of the jug, on the inside, there is a hole through which the liquid can flow via a tube in the wall, handle, and rim out through the spout. Partially covered in cobalt blue. Incised leaf motifs and small printed and applied, rhomboid medallions with flowers in relief against a blue background on the belly. Pilasters and windows in relief on the neck. The spout is fitted with a tin mount. Westerwald.
