About this work
In the flat of the dish, which has a central boss in the middle, stamped with die-stamps: a round high center, surrounded by a plant consisting of a thistle flower, two leaves, and two flower buds placed in a basin, and a stylized leaf form on a rim section. These motifs are repeated four times. Along the rim of the dish, a parallel ring is grooved and a hole drilled. At a later time, wear spots on the back were repaired with tin or lead, and a hanging ring was soldered.
