About this work
Egg-shaped teapot with a curved spout and C-shaped handle; a high, raised, openwork rim with palmettes, and a flat lid with a finial in the form of a pinecone. On the body an engraved meandering garland with a medallion on each side containing a crowned W, the letters 'BONE', and the year 1894. This teapot is part of a service that was looted in 1905 from the raja of Bone.
