About this work
Pear-shaped jug on four claw feet, bell-shaped lid with articulated finial, long curved spout, and J-shaped handle with a modeled bird's head at the tip. The flaring neck ends in a lobed rim. Above each foot, a round field pointed at the top, with chased fine foliage; outside this, always an engraved lotus scroll. Inside the lid, 'IV' carved. This coffee jug is part of a service that was looted in 1905 from the Raja of Bone.
