About this work

Fichu of natural-colored silk, triangular, scalloped and embroidered on two sides with a floral border of silver thread. Model: originally square, but folded double and secured along the two diagonal sides with running stitches. Worked diagonally on the grain. Decoration: in the point a stacked symmetrical ornament with leaves and flowers, from which a meandering scroll with flowers extends on both sides. Along and in the scallops are curls and drawn thread work. Various stitches were used for the flowers, such as the satin stitch, stem stitch, and needle lace stitches.
