About this work

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace: Valenciennes lace. The repeating and continuous pattern consists of a sequence of three different flowers in a wavy line. These are a cup flower, a rosette flower on a curved stem with two leaves and a wide-spreading flower like a maple leaf. The motifs are made in linen stitch with cut-outs and worked edges. The motifs are connected by a lattice ground, the round Valenciennes ground. The top and bottom are finished straight, with the bottom provided with picots.
