About this work

Insert of natural-colored bobbin lace: old Flemish bobbin lace with plaited ground. The repeating and continuous pattern consists of a wavy flower vine with curling leaves and a large peony under each wave peak and in each wave valley. The motifs are made in linen stitch with openwork edges and fine cutouts. The motifs are connected by a plaited ground. Top and bottom edges of the strip are straight finished, with picots on the bottom edge.
