Strip of bobbin lace with symmetrical compositions composed of small floral motifs

Strip of natural-colored Dutch bobbin lace. The repeating pattern consists of two interlocking symmetrical compositions where the motifs stand close together. One composition consists along the top side of the strip of an inverted cup flower or tulip. Below that stand on the center line two cloud-shaped leaves facing each other with below that a rosette flower along the bottom side of the strip. The other composition consists of two rosette flowers facing each other on curling stems, below that a fan-shaped flower and below that a bud-shaped flower between two volute leaves along the bottom side. The motifs are made in linen stitch with openwork edges. There is little or no ground. The motifs are placed close together, sometimes separated by a kind of short thick braids. The top side of the strip is finished straight. The bottom side of the strip has very flat wide shells finished with picots.
