Strip of bobbin lace with hanging flower and star-shaped small flowers

Strip of natural bobbin lace: Lille lace. Under a narrow band with a sprinkling pattern of square motifs, the repeating pattern consists of a hanging flower, on a curved stem with a plume-shaped leaf and several smaller star flowers. The flowers are placed against each other, with a continuous connection between two petals, and form the shells along the lower side of the strip. The motifs are connected by a fine lattice ground, a tulle ground. The motifs are made in linen stitch with cutouts and thicker, shiny contour threads. In the flower hearts of the hanging flowers a decorative ground is applied and in the leaf and the petals a decoration is realized by overlapping pairs. The motifs are made in buttonhole stitch. The top of the strip is finished straight. The shells along the lower side are finished with picots.
