Strip of machine-made lace with regularly wavy vine with small leaves

Strip of natural-colored machine lace: machine Argentan lace. The pattern consists of a regularly wavy vine with small leaves. Above each wave valley hangs a loose twig. Along the lower edge the pattern consists of two wavy vines with small leaves that together form a series of circular cartouches and simultaneously the scalloped edge. Every third cartouche touches the regular wave line above, where the point of contact is crossed by a rosette flower. The motifs are provided with contour threads and ornamental grounds are applied in the cartouches. The motifs are connected to each other by a machine Argentan ground, with meshes that appear to have been festooned by the machine as is done with hand-made Argentan lace. The upper edge of the strip is finished straight. The scalloped edge appears to be finished with picots by the loose hanging threads from the machine ornamental grounds.
