Strip of bobbin lace with rosette flowers

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace, Valenciennes lace. The repeating pattern consists of a rosette flower that hangs down from a curved twig. Between the successive flowers stands a loose dot, with right above it, slightly below the top edge of the strip a pointed oval leaf. Along the bottom edge of the strip a wavy band is formed by such leaves lying obliquely against each other. The motifs are connected by a mesh ground, a diamond-shaped Valenciennes ground. The motifs are made in linen stitch with cut-outs and worked edges. The top edge of the strip is finished straight. The shells along the bottom edge are finished with picots.
