Strip of bobbin lace with a drop-shaped motif

Strip of natural bobbin lace, collar lace. The repeating and symmetrical pattern consists of a drop-shaped motif. The successive drops touch each other. In the openwork center of each drop stands a stylized flower with twelve oval petals, which are connected to the flower heart with braids. The points of the drops create triangular fields along the top of the strip, which are filled with a mesh ground, a twisted cross stitch ground. The largest part of the drop is made in net stitch, the petals and the flower heart are made in linen stitch. The top of the strip is finished straight. The curves of the drop shapes form the scallops along the bottom of the strip, which are finished with arches made with braids with picots.
