Strip of bobbin lace with a row of small circles under a row of trefoils

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace, Buckingham lace. The repeating pattern consists of a row of linked trefoils, which hang straight down from a stem. Below the trefoils is a row of small circles. Above the trefoils runs a narrow band made with a mesh ground, a net ground. Below that the strip consists of an ornamental ground, a rose ground in which the trefoils are made with thick and shiny contour threads. The small circles are made in linen stitch, with a small cutout in the middle and without contour threads. Also the very narrow strip that runs along the bottom side of the strip is made in linen stitch and is somewhat accentuated by a shiny contour thread. The strip forms wavy, under each small circle a semicircular shell, which is finished with picots. The top side of the strip is finished straight.
