About this work

Strip of natural bobbin lace: strap lace. The repeating pattern consists of a row of diamonds surrounded by pointed ovals. The diamonds are worked in net stitch with a stripe in linen stitch along each side, interrupted at the points. The motifs are connected along the top and bottom of the strip by a strap trellis ground. The top and bottom edges of the strip are finished straight.
