About this work
Secretary decorated with marquetry of mahogany and lemonwood and other wood species on an oak core. The chamfered corner stiles, with a herringbone pattern, have a console with a festoon of gilded bronze at the top. The front and sides carry smooth fields. Arrangement from top to bottom: drawer, writing surface and two doors. The furniture rests on sawn-out supports which, like the doors, the drawer and the writing surface, are decorated with gilded bronze mounts. Marked: Montigny JME. Marble top.
