Strip of bobbin lace with symmetrical compositions with heart-shaped vase and triangular architectural motif

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace: Lille lace. The repeating pattern consists of two interlocking symmetrical compositions. In the center of one composition stands a heart-shaped vase formed by S-scrolls. In the center of the other composition stands a triangular architectural motif. Along the lower edge various scrolls form a flat shell border. The motifs are largely made in linen stitch and provided with thicker and shiny contour threads. Some motifs or fillings are made in net stitch. The motifs are connected to each other by a fine lattice ground, a tulle ground. Coarser ornamental grounds are applied in the motifs. The top edge is straight finished with a separate bobbin-made band. The flat shell border is finished with picots.
