About this work

Jug of blue-painted faience. The jug has an inverted egg-shaped body, a cylindrical neck and stands on a foot. On the body a diamond pattern is painted, with a recess on the front. Within the recess two climbing lions hold a wreath, within which a cartouche with a monogram. The jug was excavated in the Waalseiland in Amsterdam.
