About this work
Stoneware jug on a high foot with a globular, octagonal belly and long neck with a pinched spout. The C-shaped handle is attached to the neck and shoulder. Some profiles on the neck and foot. Partially covered with cobalt blue. On the belly eight medallions surrounded by an impressed zigzag line (knibis) and decorated with a hare between floral scrolls. On the shoulder and neck two birds between floral scrolls. Above the foot a band with stylized, stamped flowers. The engraved letters 'HM' on the spout. Lahntal, Westerwald.
