Strip of bobbin lace with irregularly shaped flowers

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace: Lille lace. The repeating pattern consists of a whimsically shaped flower without a stem, occupying almost the total width of the strip. Along the lower edge are two rows of openworked circles, the lower row forming the shells with which the lower edge of the strip is finished. The flowers are connected by a mesh ground, a tulle ground, scattered with square cushions. The motifs are executed in linen stitch with large cutouts and thicker and shiny contour threads. A rose ground is applied as decorative ground. The cushions are executed in form stitch. The upper edge of the strip is finished straight. The shells along the lower edge are provided with picots.
