About this work
Strip of bobbin lace, gold lace. The pattern consists of two rows of circles containing a six-pointed flower or star. The circles are connected by picoted braids, forming four-pointed stars on the center line. The flowers in the circles are worked in form stitch. The semi-circular shells along the lower edge follow the curve of the circles, with three small lobes hanging from each shell. The upper edge is finished straight. The lace was bobbin-made in two parts and then sewn together.
