Strip of bobbin lace intended or used as upholstery with a goblet flower in a hanging flowerpot

Strip of light brown colored bobbin lace: Abruzzo lace. The strip was intended or used as (a part) of furniture covering. The repeating and symmetrical pattern consists of a continuous ribbon that forms a hanging flower pot with in it one cup flower. The continuous ribbon forms between the successive flower pots a rosette flower. The ribbon is bobbin lace in linen stitch with openwork edges. In the center of the cup flower, the vase and the rosette flower stand rosette flowers of petals in form stitch. In each double-lobed leaf on both sides of the cup flowers two petals in form stitch are worked. The top side of the strip is finished straight. The shell border is formed by the pattern with the cup flowers in the hanging flower pots. The lace was made in a monastery in Naples.
