Strip of bobbin lace with cup flower and plume flower between rosette flowers

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace: fine Brussels floral work. The pattern consists of various rosette flowers, between which a goblet flower and some plume flowers are found. From a curved stem with narrow curved leaves come two larger and downward bending palmette leaves. To the right of this a curved ornamental band, crowned by a C-volute. The motifs are connected by a picoted braided ground. The motifs are made in net stitch and linen stitch with openwork edges and cutouts. The motifs are provided with thin to very thick contour threads and bobbin worked relief contours. In part of the openwork petals or flower hearts of the rosette flowers, blocks are made in buttonhole stitch, always one per petal or flower heart. Also eyelet stitches are applied, worked with standing pairs, to form openwork veins in (flower) leaves.
