Strip of bobbin lace with stylized symmetrical flowers

Strip of natural bobbin lace, Eastern European lace. The pattern consists of two stylized symmetrical flowers, the contours made with twisting ribbons, which vary minimally in width. One flower has a calyx with three lobes and could represent a tulip. The other is a palmette flower with five lobes. Both flowers hang from the top of the strip downwards, almost to the bottom. The motifs are connected by a variety of mesh grounds. The ribbons are made in linen stitch with openwork edges. The top is finished with a straight bobbin lace ribbon in linen stitch with openwork edges on both sides. The bottom is finished with a scalloped edge where the scallops are made with braids.
