About this work

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace: strap lace. The repeating and symmetrical pattern consists of one row of ovals. The ovals are made in net stitch with a smaller oval in the center made in linen stitch. They are connected at the top by a five-hole ground and at the bottom by a strap lattice ground, both grounds sparingly applied. The ovals form the scalloped edge, with four arches under each oval made with a continuous scrolling braid. The top edge of the strip is straight finished.
