About this work
Strip of natural-coloured bobbin lace: rosaline. The pattern consists of short curved twigs with three-lobed leaves, some oval flowers, a single rosette flower and a calyx flower. The motifs are bobbin lace in linen stitch with open picot edge and cutouts. The centres of the leaves are almost all accentuated by a thick contour thread. Within the contour threads, a loop trellis ground is applied as ornamental ground. The top edge is finished with a straight bobbin lace band. The very shallow shell edge derives from the pattern and is finished with picots.
