About this work

Stoneware jug on a ring foot with an egg-shaped belly and a narrow, long neck with a pinched spout. The C-shaped handle is attached to the neck and shoulder. Partially covered in cobalt blue. On the front of the jug, an incised medallion of concentric circles formed by scrollwork or leaf motifs cut out in a blue background. In the center, a stylized flower. The neck with a similar decoration. Lahntal, Westerwald.
