About this work
Stoneware jug on a high foot with a narrow neck, egg-shaped body, and a pinched spout in the rim. The C-shaped handle is attached to the neck and the shoulder. Partially covered with cobalt blue on the glaze. On the foot and neck some incised lines. The jug is decorated with a relief decoration where the belly is largely covered with printed, applied medallions with a flower rosette against a blue background. Under the spout on the neck a modeled lion's head is attached. Westerwald.
